First, the upper seat & deck will be connected with the hull at bottom with special sealant. Then the entrance will be fixed downward onto the deck, meanwhile covers the space between those 2 parts. The BBQ boat has always been manufactured like this.

What are those handles on the bbq boat entrance for?
Are they really for passengers?
If they are really for passengers, which provides effective protection when someone slips at the critical moment. Then you need to use the handels like this.
The handles are roughly at the same height as the passenger’s knees. It can’t be a good way to protect him. In addation, the entrance first step is only 6.06in/ 15.4cm wide which is close to half the length of an adult’s foot. We don’t think the passenger could feel safe subconsciously.
Alright, if they are not for passengers, then what are they really for? Actually people use them for towing when they want to trailer the bbq boat to somewhere else, or you can tie the boat fenders to those handles. But are they strong enough to hold the weight? Please check the pictures below.
Water seeped into the old BBQ boat hull after a heavy rain last night
Theoretically, the resin of each fiberglass part will shrink to a certain extent during the curing process. Even for the vacuum resin infusion, there is still 1/1000 shrinkage for each part, not to mention the manual workmanship on the old model. You may tell the gap width from the picture of the old BBQ boat entrance. And because of that gap between the entrance and the seat, water will easily seep into the hull, especially after an all night rain. Please note that once the water goes inside, you could only pump out 60% of it, because the rest has been already absorbed by the polyurethane foam built in the hull. New Solution of the BBQ Boat Entrance
Great, now we know all of the functions for the bbq boat entrance and the old model’s limitation. First, it’s for towing the bbq boat onto the trailer. Second, when the bbq boat berths at the dock, it help the users fix the boat hull. Wait, what about the passengers? “Can you put something like handrails for us, we don’t want our clients to give us a terrible 1-star rating online when they fell down on their very first step on the wet entrance. The BBQ boats we bought were supposed to help us spread the business and reputation.” We have heard that for hundreds of times from the old BBQ boat users. Therefore we design the New BBQ Boat, BQ350, like this.
So we learned that male foot length is averagely 22 ~ 28 cm (8.6″ ~ 11″) and the female is 20 ~ 25 cm (7.8″ ~ 9.8″) in China and Canada. To support passengers’ feet safely and steadily, the new BBQ boat first step is 27.2cm, 10.7″, wide. To prevent passengers from slipping, we have equipped every BBQ boat with EVA deck floors for free.
Our binocular visual field is roughly around 135 degrees vertically. When people are falling, they subconsciously grab anything within their field of vision to keep their balance. Therefore, we have already put the handrail on top when we started to design the new BBQ boat, BQ350. We believe that the real industrial design should be hidden behind every teeny , tiny subconscious action. But don’t worry, the top handrail won’t give passengers any trouble when they want to step inside on the 2nd EVA floor. Even a man or woman with a height of 1.9 ~ 2m (74.8 ~ 78.7in) can easily pass through. Unfortunately, we forgot Yao Ming’s height when we designed the bracket. We will figure it out in the next BBQ boat design.
Heavy Duty Metal Handles for BQ350
We use 316L# marine stainless steel handles for our new BBQ boat. This is the best metal to use on the boat. In terms of stress performance, it is even better than magnesium-aluminum alloy. Learn more about 316L>>
There are 8 heavy duty handles equipped around the new BBQ boat, 2 of them on the bow, 4 of them on the port and starboard, and the last 2 are fixed on the stern transom board. We believe it’s strong enough to hold the fully loaded weight. Meanwhile the front rubber fender can effectively cushion the normal impact of the bbq boat and the dock when it is moored.
